A background note of SO2 plays at the far edge of perception. A spicy, pure and mildly exotic nose offers up an enveloping set of peach and pear aromas that are lightly spiced and this character continues onto the seductive, textured and beautifully complex and intense flavors that possess serious drive and energy on the explosive and mouth coating finish. This is a wine of balance, style and class and in 2007, it's the equal of the Perrières. - BH

Fairly closed but rich and nutty. But not at all heavy or fat. Pierre-Yves suggests that the natural character of Meursault is as minerally as that of Puligny and the fatness of Meursault if often a question of style rather than terroir. (JH) - JR

Reduced, very ripe aromas of lemon-lime, minerals and crushed stone. Large-scaled and rich, offering a lovely balance of sheer sweetness of fruit and acidity. Offers a compellingly chewy texture and finishes impressively long and ripe. Batonnage would have been too much for this style of wine," said Colin. - VM
