Reviews & Scores
There is enough wood to notice framing the still reticent, fresh and exceptionally cool red and dark berry fruit that exhibits a broad range of spice and floral notes. There is equally good freshness and a wonderful verve to the broad-shouldered, dense and extract-rich flavors where an intense minerality surfaces on the palate staining, focused and linear finish that delivers simply terrific length. This harmonious though notably firm effort offers crystalline purity and should abundantly reward 15 to 20 years of cellar time, perhaps even a bit more. In a word, impressive. Try from 2028+

Good bright, full red. Crushed berries, stony minerality and a menthol topnote on the nose. Creamy, sweet and full on entry, then extremely backward in the middle, showing less obvious fruit than the Clos Vougeot but great delicacy of texture for all its volume. The wine's superb, slowly mounting finish, featuring noble tannins, suggests a long and graceful evolution.

"Here too there is less obvious wood than I typically find with this wine and it better enables the reticent and exceptionally cool fruit and broad ranging spice notes to be expressed. There is wonderful verve and freshness to the broad-shouldered, dense and extract-rich flavors where an intense minerality surfaces on the palate staining, focused and linear finish that delivers simply terrific length."
